Lead Software EngineerWant to lead technically without giving up the hands‑on engineering?We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to take ownership of a key product area — shaping architecture and technical direction while continuing to design and build complex production software.You’ll work alongside talented engineers, product and design, with genuine influence over what gets built, how it’s built and where the product goes next.What you’ll do:Own the technical direction and architecture of a major product areaDesign and build complex, mission‑critical production softwareLead, mentor and raise the bar for other engineersInfluence product, architecture and roadmap decisionsImprove engineering standards through code reviews and technical leadershipBuild with security, reliability and scalability at the coreYou’ll ideally bring:Strong skills in C++, Java, Rust, Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScriptExperience designing and delivering complex production systemsStrong architectural judgement and pragmatic decision‑makingExperience leading, mentoring or managing engineersAn interest in using modern AI coding tools effectivelyExperience with Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, embedded systems, ML or application security is a bonus - you don’t need all of them.What’s on offerCompetitive salary +equity7% pensionPrivate healthcareFree daily mealsReal ownership and influence over a key productThe opportunity to stay genuinely hands‑on as a technical leaderYou’ll need the right to work in the UK and be eligible for UK SC clearance.
