Job Description

Job Title: Golang Engineer, Golang Developer, Go Engineer, Go Developer, Software Engineer

Location: Burgess Hill, Sussex, UK

Job Type: Contract

Length: 5 months + extensions (long-term, multi-year project)

Day Rate: £260 - £270 per day (inside IR35)

Working Setup: 3 days per week onsite / 2 days remote

Talent-Relay has partnered with a global leader in the financial services sector to urgently onboard an experienced Golang Engineer / Golang Developer / Go Engineer into an established technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level Golang Engineer to work on a modern, global customer platform, developing scalable microservices and APIs within a collaborative Agile environment.

The successful Golang Engineer will be involved in designing, developing and enhancing modern microservice-based applications, working closely with other Software Engineers, QA teams and SREs to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

The initial contract is for 5 months, with extensions highly likely as part of a long-term, multi-year programme.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrable experience as a Golang Engineer within a commercial environment.

Design, develop, test and maintain backend applications using Golang .

Build and enhance scalable, resilient microservices and REST APIs .

Develop solutions supporting high-volume customer-facing applications.

Work with messaging technologies such as Kafka / RabbitMQ and asynchronous services.

Contribute to the migration and modernisation of legacy applications.

Work collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum development team.

Develop automated unit, integration and functional tests.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery.

Collaborate with Development, QA, SRE and Production Support teams.
