The Role
Working as part of the Engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring plant, machinery and equipment operate safely, reliably and efficiently.
You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement across a range of automated manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and help develop improved maintenance practices
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical equipment faults promptly to minimise downtime
Carry out day-to-day maintenance and improvements across plant, machinery, assets and services
Undertake electrical fault finding and repairs
Fault-find, repair and programme PLC-controlled equipment
Maintain automated electro-mechanical systems
Work with pneumatic, hydraulic and instrumentation-controlled systems
Identify and implement improvements to increase machine efficiency, reliability and output
Support continuous improvement and engineering projects
Install and commission new equipment when required
Ensure all engineering work complies with Health & Safety and food safety standards
Accurately complete engineering and shift documentation
Support effective stock control of engineering parts and equipment
Use Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) effectively
Communicate engineering issues clearly with colleagues and other departments
Skills & Experience
We are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer who is particularly strong electrically.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
An Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
NVQ Level 3, ONC Electrical Engineering, BTEC Level 3 Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification
