Workshop Engineer

Job Description

COMPANY OVERVIEWOur client are a highly technical welding and CNC company that specialises in the aerospace and automotive industries, and they hold the AS9100 and NADCAP accreditation.Trading since 1998 and with over 25 employees, this company operates a bespoke, unique operation that offers services and solutions in with precision engineering excellence.Due to a successful year, they have a unique opportunity for a Development Engineer with a welding background to join their busy team.JOB PURPOSEWe are looking for an experienced hands-on Engineer / Toolmaker to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Yate.This is a practical, workshop-based role suited to someone with manual machining or toolmaking experience who enjoys solving engineering problems and working hands-on. This is not a CNC machine operator position.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESCarry out hands-on engineering and workshop activities.Use manual machinery and engineering hand tools.Identify and solve engineering problems on the shop floor.Read and interpret basic technical drawings.Work to aerospace and/or automotive standards and specifications.Support the wider engineering and production team with technical issues.Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and safety.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQIREDPrevious hands-on engineering experience, ideally as a Toolmaker, Manual Machinist, Tool Room Engineer or similar.Experience using manual machinery is highly desirable.Able to read and understand technical drawings.Comfortable working with engineering standards, ideally within aerospace or automotive environments.Practical, methodical and a natural problem solver.Reliable with a strong employment history and a commitment to long-term employment.Previous welding experience is not required - the role is focused on other areas of manual engineering.This is a long-term opportunity with full training provided, making stability and a genuine desire to develop within the business particularly important.If you are an experienced hands-on engineer looking for a stable role where your practical skills and engineering knowledge will be valued, we would like to hear from you.SALARY & BENEFITS£35kHours: 39 Hours7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday7am - 12pm Friday25.5 days holiday + bank HolidaysPlease call Clare on 07799886594 for more details and please apply to this advert to prompt a callbackJBRP1_UKTJ
