Financial Controller

Reed Finance are delighted to be supporting a private equity-backed business in Brighton in the search for an ambitious Financial Controller.

This is a pivotal appointment for the organisation as it continues its next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening controls, improving reporting capabilities, and providing the insight needed to support commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day finance function and develop a high-performing finance team.

Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts and board reporting.

Own budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management processes.

Provide meaningful analysis and insight to support business performance.

Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, sales and leadership teams.

Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability.

Strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting frameworks.

Lead the year-end audit process and statutory reporting requirements.

Support strategic projects including acquisitions, integrations and systems improvements.

Play an active role in delivering the business's growth and value creation objectives.

About You

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or Finance Manager.

Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.

Experience operating within a fast-paced, growing commercial environment.

Exposure to private equity-backed, investor-backed or acquisitive businesses would be advantageous.

Commercially minded with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders.

Naturally proactive with a continuous improvement mindset.

Strong leadership skills and experience developing finance teams.
