Quality Engineer

Job Description

A well-established manufacturing business based in Birmingham is currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional to play a key role in driving continuous improvement and maintaining high manufacturing standards within a fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, and supplier teams to ensure product quality, improve processes, and support ongoing operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities using methodologies such as 8D and RCA
  • Conduct internal audits and support external customer and supplier audits
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers to improve quality performance
  • Analyse quality data and provide KPI reporting to management
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer quality standards

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, or Six Sigma would be advantageous
