Job Description

Imagine a role where your expertise in health and safety not only safeguards lives but also drives a thriving business forward. As a Health & Safety Manager, you will be at the heart of creating a safe, compliant, and proactive working environment across 40 branches in the UK and Ireland. This pivotal position is essential for reducing risk, enhancing standards, and fostering a positive safety culture, ultimately contributing to the company's ambitious goal of tripling repeat customers over the next five years.

This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, who has significant experience managing health and safety across multiple sites. Your deep understanding of UK and Irish health and safety legislation, coupled with your ability to lead audits, inspections, and compliance programmes, will be crucial. Key responsibilities include developing and continuously improving health and safety systems, policies, and practices. You will conduct regular audits and inspections, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions. Your role will also involve chairing Health & Safety Committee meetings, supporting and developing Health & Safety Representatives, and delivering training and awareness campaigns.

Success in this role means consistent compliance with legislation, a significant reduction in accidents and incidents, and improved employee engagement in safety initiatives. You will be instrumental in embedding a robust Health & Safety governance framework, ensuring clear visibility of risks and compliance performance.

This role demands excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. The ability to challenge and hold individuals accountable, coupled with strong report writing and analytical skills, is essential.
