We are looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our staff catering facility at Labman HQ. You’ll work alongside our Catering Manager to provide a clean, welcoming and efficient lunchtime service for our employees.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with basic food preparation, including preparing ingredients and plating food.
  • Support the lunchtime service and serve food and drinks in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Keep the kitchen, serving areas and dining spaces clean, tidy and well presented.
  • Support the Catering Manager with opening, lunchtime service and closing duties.
  • Wash up, clean equipment and ensure workspaces are cleared and organised.
  • Restock food, drinks, consumables and cleaning supplies.
  • Help maintain appropriate stock rotation and reduce food and material waste.
  • Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness, cleaning and health and safety procedures.
  • Report any equipment faults, hazards, stock issues or other concerns to the Catering Manager.
  • Support other reasonable catering duties as required.

What You'll Need:

  • A friendly, approachable and positive attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Good attention to cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Able to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to get stuck in.
  • Previous catering or kitchen experience would be beneficial, but isn't essential as training will be provided.

Company Benefits:

  • 33 days' annual holiday (rising to 38 over 5 years) including public holidays.
  • Private Healthcare with Aviva.
  • 5% employer pension (no upper earnings cap).
  • Enhanced maternity pay (long service applicable).
  • Enhanced paternity leave.
  • Free in-house gym, squash, bouldering wall, and countless clubs.
  • A friendly and unique working environment at Labman HQ.

  • EXCELLENCE - Delivering the highest quality in everything we do
  • HUMILITY - Grounded, respectful, and always learning
