Role Summary

Lead DevOps Engineer – Cloud Platform & Site Reliability

Location: Nottingham or London, UK

Team: LSEG Risk Intelligence Engineering

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you’ll be a hands‑on technical leader, guiding the design and implementation of modern DevOps and platform engineering practices:

Automate full‑stack infrastructure using Terraform and GitLab

Lead the design of CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI to enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery

Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads using Amazon EKS and Istio Service Mesh for service discovery, traffic management, and observability

Implement monitoring and alerting to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with development and business goals

Mentor and guide DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, automation, security and operational excellence

Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platform capabilities and developer experience

What You’ll Bring

Demonstrable AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) expertise

Hands‑on experience with Terraform, GitLab CI and Bash/Python

Orchestration and monitoring tools – Istio, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK

6+ years in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles in a lead role

Proven experience building and operating cloud‑native platforms

Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

Development experience in a major language (Java, C++, C# etc.)

AWS certifications and financial services background
