Graphic Designer & Print Finishing Assistant

Sign Pro is a growing print and signage business based in Kingston Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne. We are looking for a creative, practical and detail-focused Graphic Designer & Print Finishing Assistant to join our small team.

This is a varied hands-on position for someone with strong graphic design and marketing experience who is also willing to assist with print production and finishing. The main focus of the role is graphic design, brand development and marketing activity, with approximately one-third of each day spent helping to finish and prepare printed products.

You will help create brands, marketing campaigns and professional print materials for our clients and for Sign Pro itself. You will also support the production team by ensuring completed print work is finished, checked and packed to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities

Graphic Design and Brand Development

Create professional artwork for print, signage and digital channels, including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, business stationery, vehicle graphics, social-media graphics, web graphics and presentations.

Develop complete brand identities, including logo concepts, colour palettes, typography, visual styles, templates and brand-guideline documents.

Work on client rebrands and new-brand projects, taking concepts through to polished final artwork.

Design consistent corporate marketing materials for clients across print, web, social media and email.

Prepare accurate print-ready artwork, including correct size, bleed, trim marks, resolution, colour mode and file specifications.

Check supplied customer artwork, make amendments where required and communicate clearly about artwork requirements.

Maintain organised artwork files, templates, project folders and brand assets.

Marketing and Content

Help develop and deliver marketing activity for Sign Pro Ltd through print and digital channels.

Create promotional materials, brochures, product sheets, sales literature, adverts, exhibition graphics and email visuals.

Create regular social-media graphics and help prepare content for business social-media accounts.

Write, improve and format content for websites, brochures, product descriptions, email campaigns and marketing materials.

Make content and visual updates to the company website, ideally using WordPress or a similar content-management system.

Help ensure the Sign Pro Ltd brand remains consistent across print, website, email, social media and customer communications.

Bring forward ideas for improving the company’s marketing, visual presentation and customer-facing materials.

Print Finishing and Production Support

Spend approximately one-third of the working day assisting with print finishing and production.

Operate print-finishing equipment and tools, such as cutters, laminators, trimmers, eyelet machines and mounting equipment.

Finish a range of products, including banners, posters, signs, labels, display graphics and other printed materials.

Carry out detailed quality checks for colour, cutting accuracy, alignment, lamination, cleanliness and overall presentation.

Pack finished work carefully for collection, delivery or installation.

Keep the production and finishing areas clean, safe, organised and ready for use.

Assist with general production tasks during busy periods.
