Java Developer Location: NewcastleWorking Model: Hybrid – 3 days per week in officeWe’re looking for experienced Java Developers to join our technology teams in Newcastle, working on enterprise-scale solutions across complex and interesting client environments.The majority of work is delivered locally from **Newcastle, **with a hybrid requirement of 3 days per week onsite. Some client travel may be required, but this is the exception.The RoleYou’ll work as part of an Agile engineering team, designing, developing and delivering secure, scalable applications and services.Your responsibilities may include:Developing applications and microservices using Java and Spring BootSupporting the design and integration of microservice-based solutionsApplying engineering best practices including TDD, Continuous Integration and Continuous TestingParticipating in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectivesCollaborating with developers, technical leads, test automation engineers, cloud and infrastructure teamsSupporting the delivery of secure and scalable cloud-based solutionsMentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers where appropriateWhat We’re Looking ForStrong hands-on Java developmentSpring / Spring Boot / Spring MVCMicroservices and enterprise application developmentAgile/Scrum deliveryTDD/BDD and modern software engineering practicesCI/CD tooling and processesCloud-based application deliveryExperience with technologies such as Java 8–17, JavaScript, AWS, WebLogic, CAS SDK, GitLab, Jenkins and SonarQube may also be relevant depending on the position.What’s On OfferCompetitive salary25 days’ annual leavePrivate medical insurance3 additional days of leave per year for charitable workSecurity ClearanceDue to the nature of the work, these opportunities are subject to relevant Security Clearance requirements, including UK residency.If you’re an experienced Java Developer looking for your next opportunity in Newcastle, simply apply below or get in touch!
