Overview

The role is a full-time, permanent position for a Controls Engineer based in Worcester. The role is hybrid (2 days at home, 3 days in the office) with a base salary up to £62,000 per annum plus benefits.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support the setup, testing, and fault finding of control systems across a range of industrial equipment. This hands-on role also involves leading a small team of technicians and providing technical support throughout the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Controls Technicians, ensuring timely and accurate work
  • Install, wire, and test control systems and panels
  • Download PLC software and calibrate sensors and load cells
  • Create and maintain test procedures and documentation
  • Liaise with project and production teams to meet delivery targets
  • Monitor electrical component stock and coordinate with purchasing
  • Support R&D with equipment builds and testing
  • Maintain up-to-date electrical drawings (AutoCAD)

What We’re Looking For

  • HNC in Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience with control systems, wiring, and instrumentation
  • Familiarity with BS7671 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • Confident using CAD and troubleshooting electrical systems
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented

Training & Development

  • Full training provided on internal systems and tools
  • Compliance and safety training included (e.g. CE, ATEX)
