Advanced Diagnostics, part of dormakaba, a global leader in access solutions listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange, specializes in designing and manufacturing cutting-edge car key programming and diagnostic equipment for locksmiths and automotive technicians worldwide.Explore our products: https://www.advanced-diagnostics.comWe are looking for a smart and curious individual with a passion for problem solving and software development to join our Reverse Engineering Team in Nuneaton (UK) as our new Software Engineer.Your day-to-day role will include:Cryptanalysis of algorithmsAnalysis of various microcontroller architecturesUsing IDA ProLogging vehicle communications (CAN Bus, K-Line)Developing C/C++ applications for our toolsUsing Python to develop in-house routines for vehicle communicationTesting procedures on various vehiclesParticipating in Scrum meetings and reporting to the Scrum MasterUsing Jira to track tasks and activitiesWho we are looking for:Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fieldProficiency in C and embedded systems developmentUnderstanding of software development methodologiesRecent graduates are welcome to applyStrong ability to learn and absorb complex information effectivelyOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsDesirable skills:Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, networks, and architectures (CAN Bus, K-Line, J1850)Experience with garage diagnostics is an advantage (ISO 15765-2/UDS, Keyword 2000, DoIP)Experience using automotive logging tools (e.g., Vector CANcase, Intrepid neoVI)Knowledge of transponder technologyKnowledge of, or interest in, software and hardware security measures and vulnerabilitiesExperience with at least one of the following cryptographic algorithms: AES, DES, 3DES, RSAKnowledge of automotive bootloadersCryptanalysis experienceGood mathematical understanding of cryptographic algorithmsExperience disassembling binary files using IDA ProCross-compilation experienceFamiliarity with assembler instruction sets for one or more of the following architectures: MC9S12(X), NEC V850E1, Renesas RH850, Intel x86, Intel x64, MPC56/57/58Knowledge of hardware side-channel attacks, including Voltage Glitching, Clock Glitching, and EMFIImportant:We do not accept applications for fully remote positions. The role requires a regular weekly presence in the office.
