Network Engineer

SC Clearance process required (Must be a UK citizen or dual nationality)

Are you a hands-on Network Engineer who thrives on implementation and delivery? Do you want to be the "go-to" technical expert for Fortinet solutions without the heavy burden of full architectural design?

We are working with a fast-growing, agile technology disruptor based in Derby. They partner with high-profile blue-chip customers across the UK to deliver cutting-edge network transformations. As they continue to scale, they are looking for a dedicated Network Engineer to take full ownership of our network implementations.

The Role: Impact & Ownership

As the sole Network Engineer in the business, you will work directly alongside an experienced Network Architect. You won\'t just be maintaining legacy systems; you will be at the heart of greenfield installations and complex network transformations.

• Implement & Deliver: Take architected designs (LLDs) and bring them to life across diverse customer environments.
• Fortinet Specialist: Lead the configuration and deployment of FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and SD-WAN solutions.
• Collaborate: Act as the technical bridge between design and reality, providing Fortinet-specific input to the Architect.
• Autonomy: Manage your own workload in a fast-paced, project-driven environment where your expertise is trusted.

• Networking Core: Strong mastery of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP routing, and VPN technologies.
• Project Delivery: A track record of delivering greenfield deployments and producing high-quality "as-built" documentation.
• Location & Mobility: Based in or near Derby, with a full UK driving licence for occasional travel to customer sites and data centres.
• Security Clearance: You must hold current SC Clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the process (requires meeting UK residency requirements).
