My client seeking a diligent Finance Assistant to join their team and take on the responsibility of maintaining the charity’s financial records. The ideal candidate will be adept at book-keeping up to trial balance stage and ensuring the accounting records are kept orderly and up-to-date within monthly accounting periods.

Day to Day of the Role: Undertake book-keeping tasks up to trial balance stage, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.

Maintain both manual and computerised accounting records in an orderly manner.

Communicate effectively with internal and external parties to obtain timely and accurate financial information.

Handle all finance-related documentation, including payroll, PAYE, VAT, and other statutory returns.

Issue and code sales invoices, as well as actively pursue debt collection.

Process and match purchase invoices to orders, check and process staff expense claims, and manage petty cash.

Prepare weekly creditor payment runs and process the monthly payroll.

Perform general financial administrative tasks as required.

Take on additional responsibilities as agreed upon from time to time.

Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in book-keeping and financial administration.

Strong understanding of payroll processes, PAYE, VAT, and statutory returns.

Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
