Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join a reputable independent garage located in Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to develop their career within a traditional family-run business.

  • Starting salary up to £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and current earnings
  • Optional overtime paid at an enhanced rate
  • 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

  • Working hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with scheduled breaks

Duties as a Vehicle Technician

  • Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles
  • Complete all associated paperwork accurately and in accordance with company standards
  • Ensure faults are diagnosed effectively and communicated to the Workshop Manager
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and adhere to health and safety procedures
  • Contribute to team efficiency and uphold the company’s reputation for quality service
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and performance are prioritised
  • Support the Workshop Manager with additional tasks as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or all-round mechanic, with diagnostic capabilities
  • Competent in fault finding, servicing, and repairs
  • Relevant qualifications such as IMI/NVQ in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair are advantageous but not essential if time served
  • Reliable and well-organised with a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Ideally residing within a reasonable commute of Cowbridge
  • An active MOT licence is highly desirable but not compulsory
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
