Founding Platform Engineer

Hive is built for firms where security, control and auditability are part of the job. You will make sophisticated deployment feel wonderfully straightforward: secure, reliable and ready when customers need it.

You will own the platform foundation that lets Hive run across managed cloud, single-tenant, customer-cloud and, where needed, on-premise environments.

What you'll do

• Build and own Hive's deployment foundation across managed cloud, own-cloud and on-premise environments.
• Automate provisioning so new customers can go live in days, not implementation quarters.
• Make data residency, access controls, observability and recovery part of the product from the start.
• Shape Hive's security posture alongside the engineering team.
• Keep the platform dependable, understandable and calm under pressure.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps or site reliability engineering.
• Strong experience running production infrastructure with AWS, Azure or GCP, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field. Relevant cloud and security certifications are a strong plus.
• Experience working with security, data-residency or compliance requirements in a B2B or regulated environment.
• Strong instincts for sensible security defaults, access control and auditability.
• Fluent English and based in the UK.

How we work

We are building something ambitious with a small, high-energy team, and everyone has a real seat at the table. We move quickly, care about doing great work and give people the trust and space to make things happen.

There is little hierarchy, no endless approval loops and plenty of room for good ideas, healthy debate and laughter along the way. We work closely, learn fast and celebrate the wins, big and small.

What we offer

• Build something meaningful, together. Work with smart, kind people who care about doing great things and enjoy the ride along the way.
• Real ownership. Your work shapes the product from day one, and you will have the trust to make meaningful decisions.
• Work that goes live. Build for real firms using Hive on real workflows, not a demo graveyard.
• Exceptional tools. Frontier models, great tooling and the freedom to use what helps you do your best work.
• A front-row seat. Early hires help define the product, culture and company. As Hive grows, so does your scope.
