Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: up to £41,400 per annum dependent upon experience

Location: Glasgow

We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Manufacturing Engineer. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time although there may be some flexibility occasionally. This will be working a 37 hour week with a 1pm finish on Fridays.

The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into their customer Manufacturing Operations Function that ensure design intent can be met. The role holder will advise, coach and influence other team members from Manufacturing Engineering as well as collaborating with other functions: Engineering Quality, Supply-Chain.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will develop, implement, improve optimum and govern capable methods of manufacture, assembly and installation within Naval Ships (including verification methods). These tasks will be optimised to meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery throughout the product lifecycle including influencing design intent and Design for Manufacture.

Main Responsibilities:

* Influence, collaborate and coordinate Manufacturing Engineering activities, creating the future legacy for Shipbuilding on the Clyde and in our customer and partner facilities.

* Lead, develop and motivate assigned team members through good open and honest communications.

* Create, Define & Approve Facilities, Equipment, Tooling, Processes Manufacturing Instructions, Policies, Process Instructions, where appropriate, confirm and approve team member work.

* Understand and Influence Product Design to define optimised products to meet operational capabilities

* Create and support benefit cases for funded improvement and manages the facility investment project from concept to commissioning.

* Observe, collate, document data and use analysis tools to trend/make recommendations.

* Agree, prioritise, schedule and plan activities to meet Project/ Programme Requirements
