Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Children's Home Manager to lead a residential children's home in the Sheffield area. This position is with a well-established healthcare organisation recognised for delivering high-quality care across the UK.

The service provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children and young people are encouraged to build confidence, achieve positive outcomes, and reach their full potential through individualised care and support

Key Duties

  • Assist with the launch and ongoing development of a new residential children's home
  • Lead, motivate, and support the staff team to deliver high standards of care
  • Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding legislation, and relevant care standards
  • Develop effective working relationships with families, local authorities, and partner agencies
  • Participate in recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management of staff
  • Support the effective management of budgets, resources, and day-to-day operations
  • Foster a positive, child-focused environment that promotes safety, stability, and personal development

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working within a residential childcare setting
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the needs of vulnerable children and young people
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to inspire others
  • Committed to delivering high-quality care and keen to further develop a career in residential childcare management

Essential Requirements -

Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification). Candidates currently working towards a Level 5 qualification, or willing to undertake it, are encouraged to apply

  • Competitive salary of £52,000–£55,000 per annum, depending on experience - Pay frequency is monthly
