The Opportunity:

A well-established and growing organisation within the insurance sector is seeking a Credit Controller to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of debtor management, stakeholder relationships, and cash collection activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow, reducing aged debt, and supporting the wider finance function through effective credit control and reconciliation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
• Proactively chase overdue debt via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries efficiently.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Perform regular account reconciliations and maintain accurate debtor records.
• Monitor aged debt reports and elevate high-risk accounts where necessary.
• Allocate cash receipts and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Support month-end reporting and provide updates on collections performance.
• Work closely with finance and operational teams to resolve outstanding issues impacting collections.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance credit control procedures.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience within a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role.
• Insurance sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of accounts and prioritise workload effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills.
• Confident using Excel and finance/accounting systems.
• Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently.
