Title: Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)
Location: Westminster, London OR Leeds (Hybrid)
Working: 40% onsite
Clearance: SC Clearance / Eligible to obtain

Our client is a UK public-sector organisation undergoing significant digital transformation, with an expanding Digital, Data & Technology function. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop modern digital services and help deliver scalable, secure and user-focused technology solutions.

The Role
You'll work alongside technical leads, senior stakeholders, product managers and other engineers to develop Node.js applications, APIs, microservices and serverless solutions . You'll play a key role in technical delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with security and engineering best practices.

Key Skills
Strong commercial experience with Node.js
Experience with Express.js and/or Nest.js
Strong JavaScript / TypeScript development skills
Experience developing and integrating REST APIs
Experience with microservices and serverless applications
Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of application scalability, security and maintainability
Experience with unit and integration testing
Experience integrating applications with third-party systems, APIs and webhooks
Strong understanding of secure software development and data protection
Agile / user-centred development experience
Strong technical documentation and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, product teams and engineers
SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance
