About Us: The Alpaca, a vibrant wet-led, service forward gastropub located in the heart of Islington and is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. With a bustling restaurant and bar, a spacious outdoor seating area, and a second bar in a private function room, we offer a diverse and exciting environment for an ambitious assistant manager to thrive in.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liquor Management:
Stock Control Monitor stock, variances and wastage.

Ordering Keep the right stock levels for trade.

Product Knowledge Know the drinks range and key selling points.

Guest Service Give great service and confident recommendations.

Cellar Standards Keep storage, rotation and dispense areas clean and organised.

2. Team Management:
Lead and inspire the bar team, ensuring a high standard of service.

Conduct training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

Oversee day-to-day operations, including staff schedules and performance.

3. Sales-driving skills
Drive sales in-house by motivating the team, setting targets and rewarding success

Organise events and drive sales through innovation

4. Key-Holder Responsibilities:
Assume key-holder responsibilities, maintaining security protocols.

Open and close the bar, ensuring a smooth transition between shifts.

5. Hiring and Staff Development:
Participate in the hiring process for bar staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated team.

Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff members.

Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role.

Authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

Ability to commute to London N1 8LU.
