We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our talented team at Stagecoach Kilmarnock.This is an opportunity to lead a skilled team within a modern depot environment, taking ownership of fleet maintenance, engineering operations and facilities.You’ll play a key role in supporting fleet evolution, including electric vehicles and depot infrastructure, ensuring safety, compliance, and capability are built into day-today operations.You’ll balance maintaining today’s fleet with developing your people and facilities for the future, ensuring Stagecoach continues to deliver safe, reliable services.What you’ll be doing:Leading a team of engineers, technicians, cleaners, and apprentices to ensure our fleet is safe, clean, and road-readyManaging the maintenance and presentation of 84 service buses and 5 training vehiclesOverseeing depot plant and building maintenance, including compliance and health & safetyManaging day-to-day operations, resource planning, stock control, and procurementCoaching and developing team members, with a focus on continuous improvement and talent planningWorking closely with the Engineering Director and gaining exposure to regional/strategic projectsMaintaining standards in line with DVSA regulations and Stagecoach's standardsWhat we’re looking for:Engineering experience in a relevant sector such as bus, coach, HGV, rail, plant, or automotiveStrong leadership and team management skills, you may already be in a managerial role, or ready for your next stepA proactive, organised, and safety-first mindsetExperience managing compliance, budgets, inventory, and health & safety practicesPassion for high standards in both vehicle performance and presentationWhy join Stagecoach?Full training provided, including health & safety, equipment use and cleaning standards Competitive hourly rates and opportunities for overtime Benefits including generous pension scheme, 33 days holiday, free travel for you and a companion, and a wide range of discounts including retail & leisure Career progression, many of our colleagues have grown into engineering, driving, and management roles A supportive, inclusive working environment where your wellbeing mattersOur working environmentStagecoach is proud to be an inclusive employer.
