We are supporting a fast-growing SME in Nottingham who have trebled in size in the last 4 years to recruit their next Finance Director.It’s a company which is fast-paced, working with a leader with infectious enthusiasm for what the organisation does. They have a complex business with multiple revenue streams of varying degrees of complexity. Some with more complex accounting rules, procedures than others. Their ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability and experience to thrive in this environment.The team are good, but, the shape and structure will need tweaking therefore an experienced leader who can get the right people, in the right seats will be key. The business is full of enthusiasm and drive from all departments, your role as FD will be vital in supporting growth, ensuring resources are directed in the right areas whilst managing the relationships internally well.They are looking for a leader of people, someone with a track record of developing and leading teams. The right person will also be happy to get their hands dirty where required too.In terms of person fit, they are looking for strong emotional resilience, a robust character with the ability to remain empathetic where required too. A solutions-driven individual with the ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders. We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial flair, you’ll when to push boundaries without compromising ethics.The Role:
Work closely with the leadership time and board of Directors to provide guidance, support and insights for the group’s financial decision making
Development of financial strategies to support the growth of the organisation including M&A work, investments, compliance and tax planning
Management of strong financial controls and reporting
Management of investor relations
Lead the delivery of group and subsidiary management accounting and analytical insights
Drive financial transformation projects across the business
Management of financial business plans working closely with the bank and board
Ensuring the annual accounts are prepared in a timely manner, managing the relationship with external parties
Lead on annual financial planning projects including budgeting, cash flow management and audits
Management of financial policies, procedures, risk and controls
You will be a pro-active member of the group leadership team across the group
Requirements:
A proven record in growing organisations leading teams
Ability to thrive in a complex group of SME sized businesses with multiple revenue streams
ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
A technical background from audit or financial accounting at some point in your career in industry
