C# Software Engineer

Bristol | 12-Month Contract | £65-£70 per Hour (Inside IR35) | 3 Days Onsite

Our client, a leading engineering and technology organisation operating at the forefront of advanced defence and simulation systems, is seeking an experienced C# Software Engineer to join their growing team on a long-term contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge simulation and modelling solutions that support complex, mission-critical systems throughout the full product lifecycle. You will work on innovative technologies including digital twins, emulators and synthetic environments, helping to deliver advanced capability across design, integration, training, verification and validation activities.

The Role

As a C# Software Engineer, you will collaborate with Project Leads, Simulation Architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, develop and integrate high-performance simulation components. Working within an agile development environment, you will help create realistic end-to-end representations of complex systems using modern software engineering practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing and developing simulation software using C# and C++

Developing system representations within synthetic and virtual environments

Supporting integration of simulation solutions with wider engineering systems

Working closely with architects and technical leads to translate high-level requirements into robust software solutions

Contributing to continuous integration, continuous delivery and configuration-controlled development environments

Supporting verification, validation and training capabilities through advanced simulation technologies

Collaborating within agile, multidisciplinary engineering teams

Required Experience

Strong commercial experience with C# development

Experience with C++

Ability to understand complex systems and work from high-level concepts through to detailed technical implementation

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
