Role Overview:
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Project Manager to deliver Andrew Decommissioning project to its Execute gate. The role will provide exposure to a range of project management deliverables, working in a small team to deliver a strategically important project in an innovative way. The individual will work internally and externally with partners, contractors and regulators to develop delivery strategies, plans and procedures, implementing continuous improvements plans and managing conformance.
What you will do:
Act as the main point of contact for one of two bidders in the forthcoming dual FEED
Support contract strategy development through FEED evaluation and recommendation to Execute
Integration of disciplines and functions within the project
Deliver a refreshed Decommissioning Project Plan (equivalent of PEP)
Co-ordinate the risk review process, refreshing the risk register as required
Co-ordinate the regular Decommissioning Committee Meeting with field partners
Support the development and approval of the Decommissioning Programmes with Regulator
Work with Project Controls to deliver stage gate estimates and Master Control Schedule (MCS)
Ensure Project Information Management support is in place to support the project / programme
What you will have:
Bachelor’s Degree, ideally Engineering, Technical Discipline or Project Management
Solid, broad-based major project experience in the concept development, selection, design and/or construction phases of projects with an excellent track record of delivery.
Experience of managing tier 1 major project contractors through EPC or Decommissioning projects
Self-motivation and a high level of individual initiative and self-reliance are required.
Ability to interface, influence, and work effectively with members of Project Leadership.
Bias for simplification and efficiency with focus on fit-for-purpose deliverables that meet the needs of the business.
Strong ability to build partnerships, actively engage and respect contributions of others.
Good written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to adapt quickly to new ‘digital’ technologies.
Desirable:
Project Management Professional / Association of Project Management (APM) accredited
Good understanding of decommissioning legislation and requirements in the UK
