Teaching Assistant - The Wirral - September Start

Academics, a reputable education recruitment agency, is seeking an empathetic, proactive, and patient Teaching Assistant for flexible daily supply, short-term, and long-term opportunities at supportive secondary schools across The Wirral.

Teaching Assistants provide vital support in the classroom, helping students overcome barriers to learning, build academic confidence, and thrive in their education. This role is ideal for experienced TAs, psychology or education graduates, and individuals with a background in youth support or SEND. Role Overview
Targeted Support: Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils, reinforcing lesson plans and adapting learning materials to suit individual student needs.

SEND & Inclusion: Support students with additional learning needs, including EHCP requirements, ASD, ADHD, or SEMH challenges.

Classroom Assistance: Collaborate closely with subject teachers to keep pupils focused, minimize classroom distractions, and foster an inclusive environment.

Flexibility: Choose between flexible daily supply assignments or consistent, full-time block placements across local secondary schools.

Requirements
Experience: Previous experience supporting young people (aged 11-16) in a school, youth club, tutoring, or care setting.

Key Skills: High level of patience, strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to build effective rapport with teenagers.

Adaptability: Confident in stepping into diverse secondary school environments and supporting a wide range of subject areas across The Wirral.

Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
