This opportunity is ideal for someone with a background in CNC machining, precision engineering, or metalworking fluids who wants to move into a more autonomous, field-based technical role. You’ll work directly with manufacturers across the UK, helping customers improve machining performance, extend tool life, and optimise production processes using specialist industrial fluids and chemical solutions.

Blending hands-on technical support with relationship management, this role offers the chance to step beyond the shop floor while still applying your engineering knowledge every day. Working autonomously across Oxfordshire, you’ll partner closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams while playing a key role in developing long-term customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site servicing and monitoring of metalworking fluids, coolants, lubricants, and cleaning systems
  • Perform fluid analysis including pH, concentration, contamination, tramp oil, and bacterial testing
  • Troubleshoot machining and fluid performance issues to improve tool life and process efficiency
  • Deliver clear technical reports and maintain accurate service documentation
  • Support product trials, new implementations, and customer training activities
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through additional products and services
  • Build strong customer relationships across manufacturing and engineering environments
  • Manage your own regional visit schedule while maintaining high service standards

Must-Haves

  • Experience with metalworking fluids, industrial lubricants, or related technical products
  • Understanding of CNC machining and precision engineering operations
  • Experience carrying out on-site testing and fluid condition monitoring
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Good IT and reporting skills

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in a technical service and sales support role
  • Knowledge of coolant management systems and fluid control equipment
  • Engineering or technical qualification

What’s in it for you?

  • Join a globally active, family-owned business with strong technical expertise
  • Direct access to leadership and fast decision-making
  • Ongoing technical training and career development opportunities
  • Competitive salary and performance-related incentives
  • Collaborative, people-focused culture where your contribution is valued
