Conveyancing Assistant – Leeds

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a well-established and highly respected regional law firm at its Central Leeds office. With a strong reputation across Yorkshire for exceptional client service and a genuine commitment to employee development, this is an ideal role for someone looking to grow their legal support career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

About the Role

Working closely with Senior Fee Earners, you'll provide hands-on support across a busy and varied caseload, assisting both residential conveyancing and new build property teams. This is a highly client-focused position, suited to someone who takes pride in delivering a professional, friendly and efficient service while managing a high volume of transactions.

You will play a key role throughout the conveyancing process, supporting matters from instruction through to completion. This role is ideal for someone with at least 6-12 months' experience in a similar conveyancing support position who is ready to take on more responsibility and build a long-term career in property law.

Key Requirements

Minimum of 6-12 months' experience in a Conveyancing Assistant or legal support role

Experience handling residential property transactions, including sales and purchases (new build experience advantageous)

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Confident and professional communication skills with a client-focused approach

Please note applications without relevant conveyancing experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Opening new client files and inputting instructions into the case management system

Drafting routine legal documentation and preparing client correspondence

Updating case management systems in line with team procedures

Issuing contracts on sale files and assisting with replies to enquiries

Ordering property searches

Assisting with exchanges and handling related documentation

Preparing files for completion, including issuing mortgage reports to clients
