The Electronics Test Technician Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Test Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, fault-finding, and validating a range of electronic assemblies and products to ensure they meet quality, performance, and customer requirements.

Working closely with engineering and production teams, you will play a key role in identifying faults, supporting product quality, and ensuring all units are tested to the highest standards before dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of PCBs, electronic assemblies, and finished products
• Diagnose and fault-find down to component level where required
• Use a range of test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
• Record and report test results accurately
• Identify, investigate, and resolve production faults
• Follow test procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the production environment
• Work collaboratively with assembly and engineering teams to resolve technical issues

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Previous experience in an electronics testing or electronics technician role
• Ability to fault-find electronic circuits and assemblies
• Experience using electronic test equipment
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Desirable

• Component-level fault-finding experience
• Experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment
• Understanding of PCB assembly processes
• Knowledge of IPC standards
• Experience with electromechanical products and systems
