Financial Controller

Merseyside | £70,000–£80,000 + Bonus and Benefits | Hybrid WorkingAn outstanding opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Financial Controller to join a rapidly expanding £18m-turnover business near Knowsley.Already on a strong growth trajectory, the business expects to double in size over the next three years through continued UK growth and international expansion into new territories. As the number one finance professional in the business, you will report directly to the Managing Director, lead a finance team of four and work closely with the senior leadership team. This is a highly visible and influential role, with the opportunity to make a direct impact on business performance and progress to Finance Director in time.Key responsibilities will include:Acting as a trusted business partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership teamLeading, managing and developing a finance team of fourPreparing and presenting timely and accurate management accounts, financial statements and reportsLeading the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with departmental headsProviding detailed variance analysis and meaningful commentary on performance, risks and opportunitiesDelivering sales and margin analysis across product lines and geographical revenue streamsEnsuring compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements across multiple territoriesIdentifying financial risks associated with international operations and developing appropriate policies and controls to mitigate themSupporting the company’s M&A strategyCoordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and efficient auditsDeveloping best-practice financial processes, controls and systems capable of supporting the evolving needs of a growing international businessCreating a collaborative finance environment that encourages professional development, high performance and continuous improvementThe successful candidateApplicants must be fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA professionals with previous experience operating as the number one finance professional within a rapidly expanding business.
