At Ampleforth Abbey you'll prepare fresh, homemade meals in a supportive kitchen where quality, consistency and teamwork come first. Our kitchen provides breakfast, lunch and dinner for up to 100 monks, residential guests, retreatants and staff each day, with occasional support in our popular Tea Room.

The role You'll work alongside our Head Chef and kitchen team to:
Prepare fresh breakfasts, lunches and evening meals using quality ingredients.
Produce nutritious, home-cooked food for up to 100 diners each day.
Cater confidently for allergen and specialist dietary requirements.
Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards.
Assist with stock control, ordering and reducing food waste.
Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and daily specials.
About you You'll be an organised, dependable chef who enjoys producing consistently good food and working as part of a supportive team.
You'll ideally have:
Experience as a Chef de Partie or above.
A passion for fresh food and batch cooking.
Sound knowledge of food safety, allergens and special diets.
A positive attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Your own transport, as the Abbey is in a rural location.
