Java Developer

Location: Manchester, Hybrid Contract: 6 months Rate: £522 per day IR35: Inside IR35 Working pattern: Initially 1-2 days per week in the Manchester office, with the potential to move to fully remote working after the first few months.The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a 6-month contract supporting an AWS migration programme.The primary focus of the project will be migrating services from a single AWS account to a multi-account AWS environment. This is a hands-on development role, so we are looking for someone with strong Java coding skills who is comfortable writing, reviewing, testing and monitoring production-quality code.Key Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial Java development experienceStrong hands-on coding abilityExperience with Spring BootGood knowledge of AWS services and cloud environmentsExperience writing and maintaining unit testsExperience reviewing code and working within established development standardsExperience monitoring applications and investigating logsExperience working with Grafana dashboardsComfortable troubleshooting application and service issuesDay-to-Day ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:Designing and writing high-quality Java codeReviewing code produced by other developersDeveloping and maintaining unit testsMonitoring services and application performanceWorking with Grafana dashboardsReviewing logs and investigating issuesSupporting the migration of services from a single AWS account to a multi-account AWS structureWorking collaboratively with the wider engineering team throughout the migrationPlease click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
