Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respectedengineering company,to recruit an Information Systems Manager on a permanent basis.This leadership role is responsible for the overall management, security, reliability and strategic development of the organisation's information systems and IT infrastructure. The role leads the IT team, ensuring high-quality technical support, secure operations and the effective delivery of technology services that support business objectives. The successful candidate will manage the small IT team, providing leadership, mentoring, workload management, and performance oversight while ensuring exceptional service to all users. The role works as part of the Management Team to ensure the delivery of technology services, monitor company performance, support decision making in the pursuit of the companies’ goals and ensure adherence of legislative compliance both in the UK and USA.Key Responsibilities for the Information Systems Manager:Leadership and Team ManagementLead, manage and develop the IT teamSet objectives, monitor performance, conduct regular reviews and annual appraisalsAllocate work and provide coaching, mentoring and technical guidanceManage recruitment, training and succession planning where appropriateForm a strong working relationship with the Finance Director, providing regular operational and strategic updatesIT OperationsEnsure the availability, performance and reliability of all IT systemsOversee servers, networks, cloud services and business applicationsManage hardware and software lifecycle planningDevelop and maintain IT policies and proceduresEnsure disaster recovery and business continuity plans remain currentInformation SecurityAchieve and maintain cyber security standards and best practicesMonitor security risks and implement appropriate controlsManage user access, permissions and identity managementEnsure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policiesCoordinate incident response and recoveryService DeliveryEnsure timely and effective resolution of IT issuesMonitor service desk performance and user satisfactionEscalate and manage major incidentsIdentify opportunities to improve IT services and processesStrategic PlanningDevelop and implement the organisation's IT strategyRecommend technology investments aligned with business goalsPlan infrastructure upgrades and digital transformation initiativesManage IT budgets both P&L and capex and initiate procurement requestsVendor ManagementManage relationships with external suppliersNegotiate contracts and service agreements and monitor vendor performance and valueProject ManagementLead IT projects from planning through implementationCoordinate system upgrades, migrations and deploymentsEnsure projects are delivered on time and within budgetWork collaboratively with Departmental Managers to support their business needs and support new de-velopments in technology led product offeringsSupport ongoing AI initiatives, ensuring necessary infrastructure and security is in place with a focus on database management and a general understanding of departmental proceduresCore Skills & Experience required for the Information Systems Manager:Proven experience managing an IT team, knowledge and understanding in a similar role plus a relevant qualification at degree level and pursued ongoing industry standard training courses.Have proficient leadership, organisational and management skills with experience of managing a team. Ability to manage teams and employees effectively and delegate responsibilities appropriately.Be able to review, enhance and develop business procedures and orderly approach to processing.Experience with cyber security principles.Experience managing IT infrastructure and cloud technologies.Proficient knowledge of information systems with strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure and networking.Strong organisational, negotiation, communication, collaborative and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and drive for continual improvement.Have proficient Project Management skills with a desire to deliver.Have first-rate skills in understanding, creating, analysing and explaining reports.Qualifications required for the Information Systems Manager role:ITIL Foundation certificationMicrosoft certifications.Experience with ERP or line-of-business systems Pipedrive, Sage, RAPS and Procore).Project management qualification (PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent).Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants.
