Job Description

We are urgently seeking a Procurement Manager. To work at a large Public Sector organisation, located close to Elephant and Castle station.

The post is temp to perm. The annual salary is £60 000 and the hourly pay rate will be £32.96 per hour.

The post is hybrid. Working 2 days in the office weekly, with 3 remote.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation purchases goods and services efficiently. Finding supplier partners that strike a balance between quality and cost. Additionally, Procurement Manager responsibilities include reviewing past purchases made. This evaluation determines vendor effectiveness, compliance and ultimately, the business’s return on investment.

The successful applicant will provide advice on strategic and operational procurement matters. Ensuring that all purchasing and contracting arrangements reflect best value and comply with legal requirements.

They will also develop, implement and review all procurement strategies, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Liaising with directors to fully understand their procurement requirements.

Developing, implementing and reviewing all procurement strategies, policies and procedures.

Developing and maintaining a corporate contracts register. For contractual arrangements and retendering requirements.

Work with business managers to provide proactive advice and support on all purchasing and contracting activities.

Managing two direct reports (Senior Procurement Business Partner and Procurement Business Partner).

Contributing to the identification and delivery of business improvement projects to streamline the procurement arrangements.

Delivering target savings in procurement activities. Help to manage key supplier relationships to deliver performance improvements in cost and/or quality.

Providing user training to ensure that procurement policies and procedures are widely understood across the organisation.

Implement arrangements to ensure full compliance with policies and procedures.

Maintaining a detailed awareness of current and emerging procurement best practice, new legislation and Government guidelines.

Assist both the internal and external auditors as required, during their audits.
