AWS Software EngineerNottingham | Hybrid 3 days per week in the officeWere looking for a hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to join an engineering team building cloud-native applications and internal platforms.This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys writing clean code, automating infrastructure and building production-grade software on AWS. Youll work across serverless, event-driven architectures, infrastructure as code and CI/CD, taking ownership of your work from design and development through to deployment and monitoring.What youll be doingDesign, build and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS and SNSDevelop clean, maintainable and well-tested TypeScript / Node.js servicesBuild RESTful and event-driven APIs across microservices and distributed workloadsOwn features end-to-end, from requirements and design through to testing, deployment and incident responseDesign and manage AWS infrastructure using CDK, CloudFormation or TerraformBuild and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similarImplement monitoring, alerting and observability across production environmentsWork with AWS IAM, secrets management and security best practicesCollaborate with product, platform and DevOps teams to deliver scalable engineering solutionsContribute to technical design, documentation, runbooks and architectural decisionsWhat were looking forYoull ideally have strong hands-on experience with:Node.js and/or TypeScript, alongside modern JavaScriptAWS, particularly Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and IAMInfrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation or TerraformAutomated testing, ideally JestCI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or CircleCIREST APIs and event-driven architecturesCloud security fundamentals including IAM, least privilege and secrets managementAgile software engineering and full lifecycle deliveryNice to haveExperience with any of the following would be a bonus:React or another modern frontend frameworkJava, Go, C#, Rust or another strongly typed languageInternal developer platforms or shared engineering servicesAWS Connect, voice, telephony or contact centre technologiesEvent streaming technologies such as Kinesis, EventBridge, Kafka or SQS/SNSWhy this role?Youll be joining a team where you can have genuine ownership over the technology you build, working across software engineering, cloud infrastructure and automation rather than being siloed into one area.If youre an AWS engineer who enjoys writing code, building serverless platforms and automating everything you can, this could be a great next step.JBRP1_UKTJ
