SALARY:

£60,000 to £80,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Profit Share scheme + Benefits

LOCATION:

On-site Milton, Cambridge (CB24) OR in Garforth, east of Leeds – with travel to UK sites

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager who enjoys problem-solving, leading teams and improving warehouse, logistics and distribution performance.

As the Operations Manager you will oversee day-to-day operations across multiple warehouse sites, ensuring goods flow efficiently into the business and out to customers across the country.

Working closely with operational, warehouse, purchasing and personnel teams, the Operations Manager will help optimise processes, maintain high standards of safety, quality and efficiency, and support a productive, well‑trained workforce.

You’ll be joining a young, dynamic company with positive values that is aiming to position itself as the leading distributor of renewable energy systems in the UK. As the Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring day to day operations run smoothly and efficiently. This will be a challenging but fulfilling position with a lot of responsibility.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Operations Manager include:

  • Team Management: Manage operations and warehousing teams across UK sites, working closely with the Personnel Manager to support a well-trained, satisfied and productive workforce
  • Health and Safety Oversight: Act as the appointed Health and Safety Officer, ensuring operations are conducted safely and statutory requirements are met
  • Stock Control: Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure stock systems and real-time product listings remain accurate
  • Logistics Management: Ensure customers receive deliveries reliably and promptly, while continuing to support the development of the in‑house logistics fleet
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements that support quality, efficiency, safety, productivity and cost‑effective operations
  • KPI Monitoring: Track and optimise departmental KPIs across quality, efficiency, safety and operational performanc
  • Cross‑Department Collaboration: Work with senior colleagues across personnel, finance and purchasing to support smooth day‑to‑day operations and wider business objectives

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in operations, warehouse, logistics, distribution, stock control or a similar management environment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, recognise good performance and address issues clearly and professionally
  • Confident working with data, systems, processes and KPIs to support practical decision-making
  • Able to identify process improvements and support teams to adopt new ways of working
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple contacts, tasks and priorities
  • Collaborative, visible and approachable, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments
  • A proactive approach, with the initiative to develop ideas and see them through to completion
  • An interest in renewable energy, clean energy or the energy transition would be beneficial
  • Candidates with transferable management skills from a relevant operational environment are encouraged to apply
