Whether you are a recent graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline and some practical design experience, or an experienced Design Engineer looking for your next challenge, this role offers the opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.You will play a key role in the design and development of both new and existing products, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal departments to produce practical and commercially successful engineering solutions.The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:Supporting the design and development of new and bespoke products in line with customer and industry specificationsProducing and reviewing 3D models, fabrication drawings and Bills of Materials using CAD softwareEnsuring designs meet performance, safety and regulatory requirementsCollaborating with manufacturing teams to optimise products for efficient productionCarrying out engineering calculations and technical assessmentsDeveloping and maintaining technical documentation, specifications and data sheetsProviding technical support throughout manufacturing, inspection and testing activitiesAssisting the sales team with technical information and quotationsLiaising directly with customers and suppliers regarding design requirements and project specificationsResearching market trends and competitor products to support continuous improvement and innovationProviding technical advice and guidance on engineering and design mattersWorking with both 2D and 3D CAD packages including AutoCAD, Inventor and SolidWorksSkills and ExperienceMust have experience with 3D software (AutoCAD/ Inventor/Solidworks) Finite Element Analysis exposure/ understanding would be advantageousRelevant qualification would be ideal but not essentialMust be within commutable distance - Must drive or have access to own transportThis role would suit a Graduate Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer or Design EngineerThe application process: Our mission is to support our clients in their creation of an equal, diverse and inclusive workforce.
