The Role

Our continued growth has created an opportunity to join our successful core product delivery team, supporting our transition to a client centric, product-based organisation.

As a Software Engineer at Phoebus you will get the opportunity to develop our market-leading platform using modern software engineering practices and methodologies. You will work as part of a multi-disciplined scrum team and will be responsible for delivering innovative features and capabilities to our clients.

The foundation of the Phoebus product suite is a functionally rich Java and P4 (4GL) application, augmented with a growing variety of API integrations, Web and Digital services, as well as a contemporary, market leading, Cloud Native Digital platform.

Key Responsibilities Design, development and implementation of solutions based on outline specifications provided by the Product Owner and Application Architect

Working within an Agile Scrum team, including attendance and contribution to agile ceremonies

Produce program code and specifications to the required standards and quality.

Support system integration testing, including input into test planning.

Produce effective written communication to the standard required.

Proactive identification and implementation of service improvements.

Flexibility to assist with trouble shooting, environment management, product demonstrations and supporting other members of the team.

Development planning and estimating.

Active engagement at Agile scrum ceremonies

Discuss technical specifications with teams

Collaborate with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders

About you Experience of working within a commercial software development environment (preferably fintech)

Commercial knowledge and experience of developing and deploying software solutions

Passionate about modern software engineering practices / Continuous Delivery

Desire to learn new technologies, techniques and approaches

Experience of the full project lifecycle

Willingness to learn new technologies and agile methods.

Experience of agile project methodologies, in particular Scrum

Experience working in an agile environment

Experience of communicating with clients and building relationships

Excellent analytic skills and an ability to demonstrate critical thinking
