Job Description

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEN)
Location: St. Helen's
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Duration: September 2026 - October Half Term (with the potential to be extended for the right candidate)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in St. Helen's from September 2026.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary age range. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets. The position is initially until October Half Term, with the opportunity to continue beyond this for the right candidate.

The school has an excellent reputation for its inclusive approach, supportive leadership team, and commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

The successful candidate will:

Have recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties.
Be confident supporting children with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviours.
Be patient, resilient, and nurturing, with a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, working effectively alongside teachers, the SENCO, parents, and other professionals.
Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.In return, Tradewind Recruitment offers:
