Children's Residential Support Worker: Entry Route - Training Provided

Are you looking to build a career working with children and young people?

We are an Ofsted registered children's home in Staines-upon-Thames providing a safe, nurturing and supportive home for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

We are looking for caring, reliable and emotionally resilient people to join our residential team.

You do not need to already hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare for this position. This is an entry route into children's residential care, with training and support provided to help successful candidates develop within the role and work towards the required Level 3 qualification.

About the role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people with their day to day lives while helping to create a safe, stable and positive home environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building positive and professional relationships with children and young people

Supporting daily routines, education, activities and appointments

Encouraging independence and the development of life skills

Providing emotional support and appropriate boundaries

Supporting young people during periods of challenging behaviour or emotional distress

Completing accurate daily records, reports and handovers

Following safeguarding procedures, care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans

Working effectively as part of the wider staff team

Supporting with household duties and helping maintain a welcoming home environment

Who we are looking for

You do not need to come from a children's home background.

Schools or education

SEN support

Family support

Health and social care

Community work

Supported accommodation

Care or support work

You should be:
