NXTGEN have a new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join an expanding business based in Norwich, who thrive off the energy of it's employees. As Management Accountant you will work closely with the Finance Manager taking ownership for the delivery of both management and financial account submissions. This role combines both technical ability and business partnering to provide cost centre managers with insight on financial performance and influencing decisions, whilst also meeting statutory reporting obligations. The Management Accountant will also support with the full budgeting and forecasting cycles to ensure the business meets it's financial objectives. Working as part of a small team, this role could also see the successful candidate support with the mentoring and development of the Accounts Assistant.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Production of the month end management accounts, engaging with budget holders to provide insight on performance
Ownership for the preparation of financial accounts and technical submissions to HMRC
Prepare VAT submissions for HMRC
Review cashflow and forecasts, providing commentary on cash position
Review budget and forecast performance with the Finance Manager
Provide support and mentoring to the Accounts Assistant when required
The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a good balance between management accounting and financial accounting experience. You will be confident dealing with operational stakeholders, presenting financial information and influencing decisions as required. Good Excel skills will be key when delivering the financial insights for stakeholders. Any prior experience managing or mentoring would be desirable but not essential.
