General Manager - Luxury Country House Hotel & Spa

We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead a prestigious luxury country house resort and spa in Hertfordshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader to take full operational responsibility for a high-profile property combining luxury accommodation, a destination spa, leisure facilities, wellness, food & beverage and extensive guest experiences .

The Role

As General Manager, you will provide strong, visible leadership across the entire operation, ensuring consistently high standards of service, guest experience and commercial performance.
You will be responsible for leading a sizeable team, developing the senior leadership structure and driving a culture of service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement .
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Full operational and commercial leadership of the property
Driving revenue, profitability and overall business performance
Leading and developing a large, multi-disciplinary team
Maintaining exceptional luxury service and guest standards
Overseeing Spa, Leisure, Rooms and Food & Beverage operations
Driving F&B standards, quality and commercial performance
Managing budgets, costs, forecasting and financial targets
Developing the property's market position and guest proposition
Ensuring outstanding standards across all guest touch points
Working closely with ownership and senior stakeholders on future strategy and investment

About You

We are looking for a credible, hands-on and commercially astute hotelier with a strong background in luxury 4-star hospitality .
You will ideally have experience within a large full-service country house hotel, resort or destination spa , with a genuine understanding of the operational complexity that comes with a multi-faceted property.
You will bring:
Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager/Deputy GM ready for their next step
Strong luxury 4-star or equivalent hospitality experience
A genuine understanding of spa, wellness and leisure operations
Strong F&B and rooms knowledge
Excellent commercial and financial acumen
A natural ability to lead, inspire and develop large teams
High standards and a genuine passion for guest experience
Strong stakeholder and communication skills
The energy, presence and resilience to lead a busy resort environment
This is a high-profile leadership role for someone who enjoys being visible, involved and influential, while also having the commercial capability to drive the property forward.

Package

£75,000-£85,000 + bonus and an excellent benefits package.
