Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Launch Management System Lead Engineer to support the development, integration, verification and certification of advanced weapon system equipment. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work across systems, software and hardware disciplines, contributing to products used across land, naval, airborne and emerging capability domains.
Key Responsibilities:
Define verification strategies and develop clear test procedures against systems and software requirements
Support requirements capture, systems integration, fault finding and the resolution of technical queries
Use IBM DOORS, IBM Rhapsody and similar requirements management tools to manage requirements, verification scenarios, test procedures and evidence
Carry out systems V&V activities within laboratory environments using software, test equipment and electronic equipment under test
Log, track and support the resolution of defects identified during V&V activities and customer reviews
Manage assigned work packages, monitoring schedule, cost, quality and technical performance
Work collaboratively with systems, mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams, as well as LMS architects and verification specialists
Support product acceptance and certification by gathering evidence and validating technical publications against product requirements and behaviour
Job Requirements:
Experience with requirements and verification management tools, including IBM DOORS and IBM Rhapsody
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, processes and practices
Knowledge of systems integration, systems V&V and verification throughout the design lifecycle
Understanding of requirements engineering at system, subsystem or component level
Awareness of hardware design and build processes
Understanding of test procedures, evidence collection and certification requirements
Experience in technical report writing and configuration management
Confidence presenting technical engineering information and supporting effective decision-making
Relevant engineering qualifications or professional certifications would be advantageous
Ability to meet the security requirements applicable to work within the defence sector, including British citizenship or dual nationality with British citizenship
