Job Description

Our client is a very established and expanding heavy industry manufacturing company and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Shift Maintenance Engineer.

Basic salary £43K - £49K Neg + OT

The successful candidate will work at our client's busy manufacturing plant near Stafford.

Applicants will have excellent mechanical engineering skills and ideally some basic electrical fault find and repair skills.

The Role:

Reporting to the engineering manger the Shift Maintenance Engineer will be required to undertake planned and reactive maintenance activities on a wide range of plant, machinery and site facilities.

You duties will include but is not limited to the following;

Mechanical & electrical maintenance / repair of a wide range of machinery including conveyors, crushers, screens, furnaces, cooling plant and much more

Maintenance and repair of hydraulic & pneumatic machinery

Electrical fault find and repair control panels, motors, contactors, sensors, relays etc etc

Site facilities electrical maintenance

Candidates:

The Shift Maintenance Engineer will be a competent engineer with good mechanical and basic electrical fault find and repair skills.

Preferably you will hold formal mechanical or electrical engineering qualification e.g.NVQ level 3 or HND/HNC in electrical engineering.

Previous work experience in heavy industry environment such as foundry, recycling or quarry and aggregates sectors would be an advantage however all applicants with necessary skills will be considered.

Hours of work:

4 on 3 off 12 hour shifts days for 1 month then rotate to nights
