Are you an experienced Engineering Shift Manager looking to join a leading food manufacturing business based in Bradford? You will have a strong engineering background within an FMCG environment, with proven experience of managing and developing an engineering team. As an Engineering Shift Manager, you will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment performance, supporting the asset care programme and ensuring the engineering team delivers a safe and efficient manufacturing operation. This is a permanent days-shift position working a 3on 3off pattern, with a competitive salary of £56,000 and excellent benefits.Hours of work:3on 3off days - 12 hours 6-6As an Engineering Shift Manager your role will involve:Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the manufacturing siteMinimise machinery downtime through proactive and predictive maintenance, effective fault finding and a swift response to breakdownsEnsure engineering priorities are aligned with production requirements to minimise disruption to manufacturingContinually identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and efficiency without compromising product qualityLead and support the site asset care programme, ensuring equipment is maintained to the required standardsTake a hands‑on approach to repairing, maintaining and optimising engineering assets when requiredCoordinate maintenance activities and priorities with the wider Maintenance and Engineering teamsEngage, motivate and develop members of the engineering team, creating a positive and productive working environmentSupport training and development opportunities to improve engineering capability across the teamTake responsibility for crisis and incident management, including accidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate investigations and corrective actions are completedEnsure engineering activities are carried out in line with site health, safety, environmental and food safety requirementsSupport and manage discipline and grievance processes where requiredWork collaboratively with production and operational teams to ensure engineering issues are resolved effectivelyPromote a strong continuous improvement culture across the engineering functionSuitable Candidates:Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in EngineeringONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering would be advantageousProven experience working within an engineering and fault-finding role within an FMCG environment, ideally food manufacturingPrevious experience of managing, leading and developing an engineering teamStrong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge with excellent fault-finding skillsGood understanding of HACCP principles and food manufacturing standardsIdeally qualified to 18th Edition Wiring RegulationsConfident making decisions and managing engineering issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExcellent communication and people management skillsAssertive, organised and able to prioritise effectivelyA hands‑on, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic
