Job Description

Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Glasgow, Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen.

Salary: £59,800 - £89,800 (role dependent) + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role

We have exciting opportunities for Senior Development Project Managers to join the Eastern Green Link 5 (EGL5) team, leading one of the UK's largest and most ambitious transmission infrastructure projects. EGL5 will create a new High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) connection between Scotland and England, supporting the transfer of renewable electricity to key centres of demand and playing a critical role in the UK's transition to net zero. The project includes new HVDC converter stations, subsea cable infrastructure and associated transmission connections.

You will

  • Lead a team of Development Project Managers to progress the project development of EGL 5 through the optioneering and initial design phases, with an ability to develop the optimum project solution, deliver to timescales and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Provide effective communication and management of all key internal and external interfaces across various project workstreams in the development phase, including with our JV partners where appropriate.
  • Develop, manage and report on project programmes to maintain project milestones and developing mitigation as required where issues are encountered for your project portfolio.
  • Support the effective use of project management systems, risk management processes and large capital project governance, while ensuring CDM 2015 requirements are considered and implemented where relevant.
  • Provide effective Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental leadership. Ensuring compliance to all business health, safety, wellbeing and environmental policies and standards.

You have

  • Strong leadership skills with experience of developing, managing and reporting on significant infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other key relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience of the NEC3 Suite of Contracts, with a focus on the Engineering and Construction and Professional Services Contracts.
  • Proven ability to support project development through the optioneering and initial design phases, with an ability to develop the optimum project solution, deliver to timescales and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, plus a degree level qualification and relevant professional membership, with project management qualifications desirable.
