Site Construction Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Construction Manager to join a growing engineering business delivering complex projects across the power generation and industrial sectors.

This is a hands‑on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in dynamic site environments, leading teams and subcontractors, solving problems and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

Site Construction Manager Roles and Responsibilities:

Plan, organise and manage day to day site construction activities

Ensure projects remain on schedule and are delivered in line with business objectives

Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, materials, equipment and resources

Carry out site surveys and condition assessments of existing gas turbine auxiliary equipment

Lead and manage on-site teams and subcontractors

Monitor workmanship and material quality throughout projects

Complete risk assessments and ensure all required safety documentation is in place

Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant health and safety standards

Conduct regular site inspections and address any safety concerns or issues

Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams

Identify and resolve site issues to keep projects on track

Provide regular project progress updates and maintain accurate site documentation

Record and report safety audits, incidents and corrective actions

Support budget control and effective allocation of resources

Carry out detailed equipment assessments to support project planning and risk mitigation

Ensure turnkey projects are delivered in accordance with NEC3 and NEC4 contract requirements

Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance across all site activities

Site Construction Manager Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 5 years' experience in Site Construction Management

Experience within power generation, gas transmission, refining or a similar industrial environment

Experience within the gas turbine and/or air intake industry would be highly advantageous

HNC/D in Engineering, Project Management, Operations or a related discipline

Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and CDM regulations

Good understanding of construction management processes and relevant regulations

Experience with engineering principles, fabrication techniques and interpreting technical drawings

Confident carrying out risk assessments and implementing appropriate safety procedures

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent problem-solving and decision‑making abilities

Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage a range of stakeholders

Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Project

Experience using ERP systems; Epicor would be advantageous

Flexible and adaptable approach to working in changing site environments

Willingness to travel extensively and work on‑site for extended periods

Full UK driving licence is essential

Site Construction Manager Working Hours and Benefits:

Full-time position involving extensive travel to various project locations

Will be required to travel to customer sites, including overnight stays and, on occasion, extended periods away from home

Overtime is also payable when working off-site, where applicable
