Software Engineer

Write, test and maintain high-quality, secure and reliable codeImplement features aligned to engineering standards and architectural directionContribute to automated testing and continuous improvement of the codebaseContribute to feature-level design discussions and solution proposalsApply system design principles under guidance from senior engineers, principal engineers and architectsParticipate in peer code reviews and apply coding standards, design patterns and best practices Deliver work items from design through development, testing and deploymentProvide estimates and communicate progress or blockersTroubleshoot issues in development, integration and production environmentsFollow technical guidance and contribute ideas, risk identification and technical discussionsWork with Product, QA, DevOps, UI/UX, Principal Engineer and Architecture partnersCommunicate design considerations, progress and technical trade-offsSolve well-defined problems and contribute to system reliability and performanceLearn from team members, pair with senior engineers and share learnings with teammatesRequirementsHands-on experience in Python and a web-development framework such as DjangoExperience with JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCPStrong understanding of core software engineering principlesExperience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and version controlStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional teamWillingness to learn new tools, technologies and domain knowledgeDegree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experienceExposure to React, Node.js, Terraform, Celery or containerisation (desirable)Understanding of database schema design and query optimisation (desirable)Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native services or distributed systems (desirable)Core CompetenciesDemonstrates expertise in Python and Django for web development, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
