A well-established fire safety consultancy is looking to add an experienced Fire Engineer to their growing Glasgow team. The successful Fire Engineer will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments throughout Glasgow and Central Scotland.
This opportunity would suit a Fire Engineer looking for greater project exposure, strong technical development and the chance to progress within a supportive consultancy environment.
The Fire Engineer's Role
The Fire Engineer will be involved throughout the design and construction process, providing practical and technically sound fire safety advice.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Preparing and reviewing fire strategies
Carrying out site inspections and technical assessments
Advising on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance
Reviewing architectural drawings and construction information
Applying relevant UK and Scottish fire safety guidance and building standards
Liaising with architects, contractors, developers and design teams
Producing clear technical reports and recommendations
Supporting projects from early design through to completion
The Fire Engineer
The successful Fire Engineer will ideally have:
A degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
Previous experience within a fire engineering consultancy
Good knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and Scottish Building Standards
Experience producing fire strategies
IFE membership or progress towards professional registration
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A full UK driving licence
Both developing and experienced Fire Engineer candidates will be considered, with salary reflecting experience and qualifications.
